What does the North Wales Substance Misuse Forum aim for?

• To prepare a North Wales Strategic Plan which will detail arrangements for joint working identified within the local Substance Misuse Action Plans.
• To ensure the North Wales Community Safety Chief Officer Group is kept informed regarding matters of policy
• Dissemination of good practice to SMAT’s and other agencies
• To assist in the implementation of Regional and cross County initiatives
• To ensure Drug & Alcohol services across the region work in harmony with other re-lated strategic activity
• To agree common North Wales priorities on Substance Misuse and to jointly task agreed resources
• To assist in facilitating information exchange between relevant agencies
• To establish minimum standards in respect of delivery of services such as treatment and education.
• To link into existing partner agency plans such as The Health and Wellbeing Strategies and the NW Police Three Year Strategic Plan.

From time to time the NWSMF are made aware of new service provision for drug and alcohol misusers, that are considered as 'alternative' to main stream services. Whereas the Forum acknowledges their existence and the need for innovation, the Forum does not endorse any specific alternative treatment service.
Any use of the Forum logo by any such service should be disregarded.
