SMAT

Each county in North Wales has a Substance Misuse Action Team (SMAT) which aims to tackle drug and alcohol problems in their region.

Substance Misuse Action Teams (SMAT) are comprised of representatives from a wide range of organisations who have an interest in drug and alcohol issues. SMATs are typically made up of County Councillors, Health professionals, Police, Probation and the Community Drug and Alcohol Service. They are joined by representatives from local voluntary organisations such as CAIS.

In addition the Chairs of the 6 SMATs in North Wales meet to discuss their local plans and how they can work together regionally to tackle the problem on a North Wales level
